On this day, in 1698, Russia’s Peter the Great imposed a tax on beards.  Ya think there might have been an outcry for equal justice?  )Brain Freeze, mayhap?(

Consider thyself lucky if you didn't attend, "Burning Man" in Nevada this past week. For desert natives, a 1" rain storm caused a lot of wet stuff aka 'mini-nami,' to pop out of the ground...a horizontal geyser, no less. Mostly minor injuries, but a report of a single fatality...no further info. I could find only 4 fatalities since 1987. 'Nuff said.

All in all, major kudos to the organizers for another success and what it means to stress ample supplies, well in advance of the gathering!  Why can't that be done in the confines along the Potomac? Et tu, you guys and gals?

It hurts to convey my feelings how the Minnesota Twins rocked my Cleveland baseball team last night, by a score of 20-3.  ShoooWEE...that's a total season score for some soccer teams!  No malice intended.  It's been mega years since that kind of score.  I seem to recall that being when the Ark landed, as The Noah Hilltoppers defeated The Ararat Couples 312-9, in a pick-up game.
